Surgery Department Renovation & Expansion - 2019

Heywood Development partnered with MVH on multiplefacility expansions to support the hospital’s continued growth and evolving needs.

In 2018, we collaborated with the hospital and building ownership to secureapproval for an expansion that included two new operating rooms and therenovation of the existing pre-/post-op, PACU, and supporting spaces. The goalwas to enhance functionality and accommodate the increasing demands of the surgery department. Working closely with the design team, hospital leadership, and end usersduring programming and schematic design, we developed a solution that balancedoperational needs with regulatory and spatial constraints. Together, we crafted a design that optimized workflow and patient experience. To maintain uninterrupted hospital operations, our team created a detailed phasing plan and coordinated closely with the general contractor and trade partners to ensure that patient care remained the top priority throughoutconstruction.

The project was completed successfully—on schedule and within budget—in November 2019.
